March 25, 2005

WAS ONLY ONE SHORT YEAR AGO

that miss meghan was extolling the virtues of tretorns and calling them the only big thing for last spring. and now this very week my sweeties, miss meghan spied the new tretorns on bleecker street at olive and bettes. deep green suede with a white check and white canvas with a navy check. ooweee! finding out more and will keep you updated my sweetpeas.

in the meantime if you live in nyc, head on down to LACE where spring sounds like:
Vivienne Westwood, Sonia Rykiel, Johanna Ho, Tsumori Chisato, Camilla Staerk, Gaspard Yurkievich, Moschino, Terry de Havilland, Laurence Dacade, Leflesh, and Venera Arapu. tasty.

and what are you doing for easter my pretties? do drop by for some champers at miss meg's in the afternoon if you are in the nabe. after 3 pls.

kisses.

ALSO

i forgot to tell you i have become a network TV junkie. thats right. miss meghan has succumbed to the boob tube. my favorite shows you ask? jake in progress (yes i know it is john stamos--but it is sort of funny), boston legal (amazing episode last night, also a big fan of kerry washington after seeing RAY on saturday night), committed, which actually gets some laughs out loud from me, blind justice, and desparate housewives, and the today show, but not every morning, only occasionally. so there you have it. network junkie, meghan cleary. why the vapid entertainment seeming so scintillating? i don't know. i have also started eating mint chocolate chip ice cream. what does this mean? am i storing up for my impending book tour? perhaps. like a bear in the winter, i will come out of my cave and frolic in the spring air. in fabuous shoes of course. hello.

DID YOU SEE MY FRIENDS?

we love dan crane, he seems to be a journalist who gets it right.

GRANDMA, THIS BLOG'S FOR YOU

check out my article in ego miami this month! sooo cute! I had such a fun time working on it with ginger, the very nice editor there. i love that little magazine.

saturday, stopped by the new louboutin boutique in the west village. did i mention the west village is turning into madison avenue? ok yes. so anyway i met butch the hairless chinese crescent dog who only repsonded to russian, and michael the very nice sales person who gave us all the dish on the new store. it is basically still a SECRET my pretties. so if you want to very exclusive private closet type of shoe buying experience, get yourself there immediatment.

this morning i walked out into my neighboorhood which was packed on every side street with very large production turcks. the sort that are required for a feature movie. while waiting for my cab, a swarm of paprazzi decsended outside the block of waverly that has patisserie claude. they were waiting for who i dont know, but there was a large lincoln navigator with a bodyguard. when the paparazzi saw me looking at them and shaking my head because they seemed quite viperish, they must have mistaken miss meg for a celeb since they then started snapping pics of moi. aack. i promptly ran into a cab and left the scene. whew.

in other news, it is sunny and freezing here. where is my miami vacation? this last bit of winter is chilling my insides. blah.

MISS MEGHAN HAS BEEN A BAD BAD GIRL

I know my precious sweeties, I have not blogged a peep since my adventures in LA. but now I am back and all is well in the universe of shoe.

So MANY fun things happening here at the house of miss meg. Monday march 21st at 11pm, look for me on Soaptalk, (SOAPnet channel 119 in NYC) where I dish with Lisa Rinna on all manner of Spring shoes.

Did you read about the credit card scandale at DSW? http://www.clickondetroit.com/money/4268194/detail.html Oh my goodness. Pay in cash my pretties until they sort that thing out.

Now, you and I know that Roger Vivier basically invented the stiletto for the modern woman. And even thought the revolutionary Mr. Vivier died back in 1998, some very smart people, namely Diego Della Valle, the chairman of Tod’s, are helping his line have a comeback. Also involved are the much beloved Bruno Frisoni nd Ines de la Fressange. Bruno is designing the new shoes and Ines is putting up fab pictures in the Vivier boutique in Paris and writing a fabulous book about the man. OwwE! Can you hardly wait till that comes out! The label is on it’s way back to the United States next month, selling in Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Neiman Marcus in Los Angeles. Yes! I hear that along with the classic buckle stiletto there are pink crocodile boots. Eek.

OINK

This weekend will be the weekend that I finally get to eat at the spotted pig. After weeks of anticipation and hour long waits I am not into, I sense that my honey and I will go early on Saturday and join the superfabulous pubgoers. If we see jay-z I will tell you.
