here's the luella apple green jacket i got at target. i made three, count them three, trips whilst here in springtime michigan. perhaps it is the pollen in the air, the warm temps, the smell of sunscreen on my arms, but all i know is that i get a total rush as i drive up to the target parking lot and see the bullseye in the distance. inside i know i will find my friends luella, isaac and thomas o'brien. thomas makes me swoon. his home line is so fresh, so perfect, so. i can't describe it. all i know is that once i became entranced with his notepads and insisted on buying them even though they were 3inches by 3 inches and not really useable for normal purposes. it was just the aesthetic.

mom got a bunch of cute sweaters for her london trip and an isaac mizrahi jacket and sunglasses that are very very glam.

also i plastered laura mercier all over my entire family's faces. well just the girls. but they loved it!

SPRING CLEANING FEELS SO GOOOOOOOOD

the pile of ebay items keeps growing in my living room. there are paper and denim jeans, balenciaga pants, necklaces never worn, pink wood platform sandals also never worn and not even out of the box (gasp!), and i bring all sorts of new things IN. silver sergio rossi sandals, rose colored tanks from urban outfitters where i get my obsession for extra long tank tops regularly sated, and a new cut and color that even made my hairdresser gasp. I dont think it looks that different but he sure did. "the blondest i would ever take you" gasped he.

NOW however, what to do with all your winter boots my dears? shove them in the back of your closet and cringe come fall when you take them out covered in dust and all smushed up? no no! you put them in the boot box! hello! clear plastic boxes, eminently stackable and easy to see through. can also be used for storing your winter bag collection! kisses!

WAIT WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT CORK

now cork originally was used as a material for shoes during WWII when many shoe making materials were scarce. so savvy shoe makers came up with cool other materials like cork and raffia (the espadrille) which created trends that we still enjoy in 2006! this spring we are seeing everyone from costume nationale to these guys deploy the cork. check out this article on shop etc's blog for more!

we had such a blast filming. afterwards we headed down bleecker street where we shopped it up and tried on a million pairs of jeans and genie pants.

HAPPY VALLEY, DITA, AND SOME RED SHOES

i have a second hand smoke hangover this morning. which is a good thing. and i will tell you why. for so long there has been no where a self-respecting downtown girl like myself could get her dance on. yes there' s bungalow(celeb only), there was lux(dirty w-burg guys), and looong loong ago save the robots (u didn't want to go there after 4am but sometimes you ended up there anyway), but happy valley seems to be the perfect combination of it all. guys in suits meet guys in seven inch platforms. fab hard house meets kanye. theo on the door, and then whisked upstairs where we had a perfect view of dita von teese cavorting in a giant champagne glass. sal the owner was wearing fab trainers. lots of ladies wore 1940's attire to get in the mood--see the pic of fab 40's inspired red shoes by one audience member. dita herself wore super high red sparkly platform heels with an ankle strap. which of course she took off before she jumped in her champagne glass. suzanne bartsch, hostess with the mostess, rocked her broken leg by wearing a flip-flop on one foot and flat on another. lots of fun dancers in the neon cage and on the bar of course. because what new york club club is complete without bar dancing?
